Leather or Fabric, which suits your home the best?

One question that has plagued man since the days of covered wagons out on the range - leather or fabric?  At first thought it seems easy to answer since it is a matter of personal preference right? Woo, not so fast partner. When deciding which to select for those items you choose to see, rest, and use in your home, it is a loaded question. After a house and car - what goes inside the home is the costliest purchases we make. The average person only furnishes or remodels their homes a few times in their lifetime. Besides a more common occurrence is the inheritance of larger furnishings and a purchasing of smaller items to fill in the gaps. Thus it is only natural that we give considerable thought and conduct ample research in choosing pieces which will live with us and we live on.

Following the initial question comes a flurry of others to chew over (ponder contemplate); significance, durability, longevity, comfort, quality, and sustainability. While leather and fabric upholstery are both stylish, one's lifestyle is the mitigating factor in determining which to invest in. Outside influences such as an individuals stage in life (college, newly married, empty nester), environment (climate, sunlight), and who shares the space (kids, pets, roommate) must be factored in. Case in point, in LA leather may be a better fit for a college student with multiple roommates - odor. In the north a micro suede fabric for a family with young children - stains. And in Florida a linen fabric for a couple of empty nesters with large dogs- scratches.

A question for the ages, it plaques us all.  So when contemplating which is the best option for your homestead, weigh the pros and cons to each..and I'm sure you're be happier than a pig in mud. Mosey on over to Eclectic Elements to find out more.
